Instructions

Step 1
heat oven to 375°F.
Step 2
place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies
Step 3
combine shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in large bowl

beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended
Step 5
add egg
Step 6
beat just until blended
Step 7
combine flour, salt, and baking soda
Step 8
add to creamed mixture at low speed
Step 9
mix just until blended
Step 10
drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet

flatten slightly in crisscross pattern with tines of fork

bake at 375°F for 7-8 minutes, or until set and just beginning to brown

do not over bake
Step 14
cool 2 minutes on baking sheet
Step 15
remove cookies to foil to cool completely
