A simple recipe and always a crowd pleaser and a family favourite since our kids were little! I often double or triple the recipe.

Instructions
Step 1
Combine butter or margarine with sugar and mix well.
Step 2
Add vanilla and eggs blending until light and fluffy.
Step 3
Combine flour and baking powder.
Step 4
Add dry to wet mixture and combine throughly.
Step 5
Divide into two balls. (DO NOT CHILL)
Step 6
Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness on floured board and cut into desired shapes.
Step 7
Bake for 6-8 minutes at 350F.
Step 8
Cool on wire racks.
Step 9
Mix icing sugar, vanilla and corn syrup and add water to the desired consistency. I like to make icing the consistency of a thin paint, divide into separate containers and add different food colouring to each. I paint cookies with a thin layer of icing using a pastry brush the while wet sprinkle or dip into coloured sugar sprinkles.
