Ingredients

1whole chicken

3 tablespoonslow sodium soy sauce

3 tablespoonscanola oil

¼ cupunsalted ketchup

3 tablespoonslight corn syrup

1 ½ tablespoonsapple cider vinegar

1 teaspoongarlic
grated

½ teaspooncrushed red pepper

½ teaspoonkosher salt
divided

2 bunchesscallions
trend

1red bell pepper

1yellow bell pepper

cooking spray

¼ cupfresh cilantro
firmly packed

1 tablespoontoasted sesame seeds
Instructions
Step 1
1. Spatchcock raw chicken
Step 2
2. Combine soy sauce and oil in a large zip lock plastic bag and add chicken. Seal and chill for one to two hours
Step 3
3. Drain chicken, discard marinade and pat dry
Step 4
4. Whisk together ketchup, corn syrup, vinegar, garlic, crushed red pepper and 1/4 teaspoon salt until smooth. Set aside

5. Preheat gas grill to high, 450 to 550 degrees on one side or push hot coals to one side of a charcoal grill
Step 6
6. Plays chicken, breast side down on oiled grates over lit side of the grill
Step 7
7. Grill chicken, uncovered, rotating but not flipping often until skin is crispy, 6 to 8 minutes

8. Place chicken, breast side up over unlit side of the grill and grill uncovered until thermometer registers 165 degrees, about 35 minutes

9. About 10 minutes before chicken is done, coat scallions and bell Peppers with cooking spray

10. Grill, turning often until lightly charred, 4 to 5 minutes for scallions and six to 7 minutes for bell Peppers. Transfer vegetables to a cutting board and cut scallions into 2 inch pieces and bell Peppers into strips

11. Arrange grilled vegetables on a serving platter. Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt

12. Place chicken on top of vegetables and brush with 1/4 cup of sauce

13. Sprinkle evenly with cilantro and sesame seeds and serve with remaining sauce
