Ingredients

0.5onion
chopped
1jalapeno pepper
chopped and seeded
1 tablespoonfresh ginger
grated
2garlic cloves
minched
1 teaspoongaram masala
½ teaspooncumin seeds
½ teaspoonmustard seeds
⅛ teaspooncayenne pepper
2 cupspotato
mashed, or sweet potato
0.5peas frozen
0.25fresh Cilantro
chopped, or dried
14 ozpiecrust pastry
refigeratred
Herbs
mango
tamarind chutney
Oil
for frying vegetables
Instructions
Step 1
Warm the oil, cook the onions then add jalapeno, ginger and garlic for cook 1 minute.
Step 2
Stir in the garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and cayenne pepper and mix well.
Step 3
Add mixture to the mashed potato and peas, add in the cilantro and other herbs if using. Make chutney of fruit, ginger, onion, raisins, etc, add mango if you have any.
Step 4
Unroll the two pie crusts and cut into quarters making eight pieces in total.
Step 5
Brush edges of the quarters with water to moisten. Spoon about 1/2 cup of filling on each and fold into triangles. Press edges careful to seal.
Step 6
Arrange on prepared baking sheet, prick the tops for ventilation and bake until golden brown and crisp approximately 30 minutes.
Step 7
Cool slightly before serving with favorite chutney and fresh salad.
