Instructions
Step 1
Mix butter, sugars, vanilla, and eggs in large bowl. When I put the vanilla in, I always overfill the tablespoon into the bowl. A little extra vanilla gives the cookies a better flavor.
butter1 ½ cups
white sugar1 ¼ cups
brown sugar1 ¼ cups
vanilla1 tablespoon
eggs2
Step 2
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add it to the butter mixture and stir. Don't over portion the flour. Too much flour makes these cookies dry. After mixing the wet and dry ingredients, add in the chocolate chips.
flour4 cups
baking soda2 teaspoons
salt1 teaspoon
semi sweet chocolate chips24 ounce
Step 3
bake the cookies at 345 degrees for 8 minutes. I check them at 8 minutes and if they aren't browning on top, I put them back in for a minute or two longer. But as soon as they get even the tiniest brown spots on top, I take them out, which is why they are always so soft. If anything, they will appear undercooked, but as soon as they cool, they are soft perfect cookies.
