Instructions

Step 1
Mix butter, sugars, vanilla, and eggs in large bowl. When I put the vanilla in, I always overfill the tablespoon into the bowl. A little extra vanilla gives the cookies a better flavor.

Step 2
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add it to the butter mixture and stir. Don't over portion the flour. Too much flour makes these cookies dry. After mixing the wet and dry ingredients, add in the chocolate chips.

Step 3
bake the cookies at 345 degrees for 8 minutes. I check them at 8 minutes and if they aren't browning on top, I put them back in for a minute or two longer. But as soon as they get even the tiniest brown spots on top, I take them out, which is why they are always so soft. If anything, they will appear undercooked, but as soon as they cool, they are soft perfect cookies.
