Instructions
Step 1
In a large zipper-lock bag, combine the steaks and sauce. Massage the contents to coat evenly. Seal and refrigerate for 1 hour or as long as 8 hours.
Step 2
Remove the steaks from the marinade. Set aside.
Step 3
Measure 1 cup of marinade and set aside.
Step 4
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, onion, salt, and pepper. Stir. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until the mushrooms are browned. Remove to a plate and set aside.
Step 5
Return the skillet to medium-high heat and add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Fry the reserved steaks, in two batches to avoid crowding the skillet, for about 2 minutes per side, or until browned on both sides. Add the reserved sauce and mushroom mixture. Lift the steaks with a spatula to coat with the sauce. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until no longer pink in the center. Let stand for 10 minutes.
