Instructions
Step 1
Stir the sugar into the warm water and sprinkle the yeast on top. Stir and wait about 8-10 minutes, until the yeast begins to bubble.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer, add the flour, salt, olive oil, and yeast mixture.
Step 3
Knead the dough with a machine using a dough hook attachment for 4-5 minutes. If a stand mixer is not being used, knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-7 minutes. If the dough is sticky, add 2 tablespoons of flour at a time, or until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky.
Step 4
Grease a bowl with olive oil or cooking spray. Add the ball of dough in the bowl and toss to coat with the oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise at room temperature for one hour, or until doubled.
Step 5
Punch down the dough. Brush a 9x13" baking dish with 2 tbsp olive oil and add the dough to the baking dish. Stretch and press the dough out into the baking dish and cover with plastic wrap. Let the dough rise for another 20 minutes.
Step 6
While the dough is rising, preheat the oven to 425F.
Step 7
After the second rise, press your fingertips into the dough to make dimples. Pour 2 tbsp olive oil over the dough and sprinkle with rosemary, garlic powder, parmesan, and pepper.
Step 8
Bake for 25 minutes, or until brown. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before cutting.
