Step 1
Melt butter in a pot or Dutch oven. Cook down onions, then add garlic and spices. Add flour and stir until dissolved. Pour in 2 cups of broth, drop the heat, and cover for 5 minutes or until thickened.
Step 2
Add broccoli and carrots and light cream. Cover for 15 minutes, then add cheddar cheese. Season as needed.
