Instructions

Step 1
Stir buttermilk, salt, soda, & baking powder together
Step 2
Add in egg, cornmeal, & flour.
Step 3
Heat 4 tbs. bacon grease in a 10” iron skillet until smoking. Pour in batter and stir. Swish 2 tbs. water around in bowl in which you mixed the batter and pour over the top of your corn bread to glaze.
Step 4
Bake at 450 until golden brown, about 20 – 25 min.
