Fig + Burrata Toast with Candied Pecans
5 steps
Prep:6minCook:4min
This autumnal toast is sweet, salty, earthy, crunchy and just a tad bit spicy thanks to the addition of some hot honey and sweet + spicy candied pecans (see my recipe for these on my Whisk profile). It's such a yummy combo and the perfect way to showcase figs when they're in season - I hope you try it!

1 sprigrosemary
needles removed and rubbed between fingers to release oil
hot honey
to drizzle, or normal honey, or balsamic glaze
Instructions
Step 1
First, toast your bread. You can do this in a toaster, or you can drizzle it with a bit of olive oil and grill it in a frying pan until golden and crispy on both sides.
Step 2
Spread your burrata cheese on top of the toast and drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil. Sprinkle on some flaky sea salt and black pepper and half of the chopped candied pecans.
Step 3
Slice your large fig into discs (if using small figs, use two). Place these on top of the cheese and candied pecans. Drizzle a bit of hot honey over the toast and finish with fresh rosemary and more of the candied pecans. My homemade hot honey recipe can be found on my Samsung Food profile.
NOTES:
Step 4
If you don't have time to make candied pecans, you can just toast up some normal pecans, walnuts or some flaked almonds.
Step 5
Fresh thyme would also be great on this toast if you prefer it to rosemary.
