Instructions

Soften butter in a mixing bowl until creamy and smooth

Add brown sugar to the butter and mix

Add vanilla extract to the butter and sugar, mixing well.

In three parts, combine the flour into the sugar and butter mix until it becomes a moveable dough that comes away from the bowl.

Sprinkle a generous amount of flour on a cleaned counter surface.

Roll the dough onto the counter, making sure it is not too sticky. Using a rolling pin (dusted with flour) roll your dough out into 2cm thickness (or as thin as needed.)

Using a cookie cutter (bear shaped if possible) stamp out your cookies and transfer to a parchment lined baking tray.

Use a cocktail stick to create four small breathing holes in the tops of the cookies. Optionally, sprinkle some brown sugar on top of the cookies.

Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes in the oven at 180°c or until golden brown.

Let cool before transferring to a plate to enjoy! Place spare cookies in a sealed container and use within 7 days.
