Instructions

Step 1
Wash and dry strawberries, cut them in small pieces. Place them and the other berries and 950 gr of the sugar in a large pot and let sit for about one hour at room temp. (When jam is boiled with pectin it will double in volume while boiling and you need to allow space for that.)
Step 2
Add lemon juice. Bring to a boil and cook for 7 to 8 mns, mashing berries really well with a potato masher. (The kind with the square holes)
Step 3
mix 100 gr sugar with the pectin, mix into cooked berries and bring to a continuous boil for 1mn.
Step 4
Distribute hot jam into 1/2 pint jar that have been sterilized in hot water. Close jars tightly and place in boiling water for 10mns. Make sure jars have at least an inch of water covering them.
Step 5
After removing jars from water, turn upside down for about 15mns.
Step 6
As jars cool they will pop. A properly canned jar will not have a bouncy lid when you press on it and will be shelf stable for at least a year.
Step 7
This makes 7 or 8 half pint jars
