Mushroom Sauce for Steak

1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. 2. Stir in mushrooms and garlic. Saute 3-4 minutes until mushrooms are browned. 3. Stir in broth, cream, dijon, worcestershire, salt, and pepper. Continue to stir periodically for 5-8 minutes until liquid is reduced and thickened and creamy. 4. Taste, add salt and pepper if needed. Serve over steak and top with additional cracked black pepper if desired

Used this recipe more as inspiration. 2x recipe so I used exactly 16oz of cremini mushrooms - dry sautéed with no oil for ~10 min to release moisture - once sizzling, added butter/oil and 1 shallot (not in the list) - then added garlic, then everything else - I think I added 1/8 cup less cream because it felt like a lot. I could have kept and added more broth? It was delicious but a bit thick at the end

10/4/25 added msg. Parmesan cheese. Flour. Some truffle seasoning.
