Red Wine Braised Short Ribs in Dutch Oven

It is absolutely delicious, but between the braising and cooking all the veggies, there is at least one hour of prepping for this meal before sticking in the oven. Also, why would you throw away all those veggies as the recipe calls for? I removed the bay leaves and the thyme sprigs and let my immersion blender take care of blending everything for an absolutely delicious gravy. You could add a bit of Gravy Master to darken, but I ran out. It was still delicious.

Only had time to cook in the over for 2.5 hours but could have gone the whole 3 hours. Turned out great though.

Restaurant quality! Not much else to say about the dish. It was a huge hit. We can't wait to make these short ribs again.

We have made this a few times and it’s always incredible… Today we couldn’t find short ribs and instead replaced them with a rack of lamb, it was just as good if not better! Definitely recommend giving it a try!

So very delicious! Prep work is a little intense but worth the effort.

So so good!! We followed the recipe pretty closely but added a lot more fresh thyme and oregano than it called for, and didn’t discard the veggies at the end. We had it in the oven for almost 3 hours and the meat was falling off the bone when we took it out. Definitely a special occasion recipe but so delicious!

Meal prep was about an hour. Once in the oven the dish cooked for 2 hours to be tender.

Halved the recipe because I didn't have as many lbs of ribs. Don't halve the liquid- it will all evaporate away. Still delicious.

No photo, smelled to good to stop dishing it up! Would make more sauce. I used a roaster so it reduced too much. Good excuse to buy a Dutch oven for sure.
