Instructions

Beginning steps

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°

Set aside a cast iron skillet that holds about 8 cups. Check the notes below for other options.

Fruit filling

Chop pineapple into 1" chunks

Toss with cherries and 2 tbsp brown sugar

Dot with 2 tbsp butter, diced

Crumble

Grind 2 tbsp oatmeal in coffee grinder or food processor

Combine oatmeal, ground oatmeal, coconut, walnuts, 1/2 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt

Add butter and combine to form small and large "crumbles". This is easiest to do with your fingers: the next best option is a fork

Final steps

Step 9
Toss the crumble over the fruit.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, until topping is beginning to brown and fruit is bubbling.

Cool slightly, so juices can settle.
