Step 1
In large Stock Pot add water, Sliced potatoes, Onions, and Garlic. Cook over medium heat until the potatoes are almost fork tender. Do not over cook as the potatoes will break down into mush. Stir occasionally but not too much to avoid breaking the potatoes.
Step 2
Add the garlic, salt and pepper. Cook additional 5 to 10 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender.
Step 3
Drain any remaining water.
Step 4
Add the butter and gently stir it in allow it to melt. Serve hot.
