Instructions
Step 1
In a saucepan over medium high heat, melt the butter until it bubbles.
Step 2
Whisk in the flower and cook for 2 minutes, whisking constantly.
Step 3
Whisk in the broth and milk (and cheese, if using). Cook for about 3 minutes, whisking constantly until thickened.
