Boiled Pork with Chinese Spices

Instructions

Step 1
add all spices to pot and add water (enough water to submerge the pork shoulder)

dark soy saucedark soy sauce6 tb
Step 2
put meat into water
Pork shoulderPork shoulder3 lb
Step 3
simmer for 2 hours at low fire with lid on (simmer so that water is barely bubbling)
Step 4
take out meat and let it sit for 15 minutes
Step 5
take about a cup of the spiced water the meat has been boiling in and start simmering in a different pot (this is used for the sauce)
Step 6
add corn starched water to the sauce pot and stir so it doesn't burn (add corn starched water until the sauce has a saucey texture)

cut up meat and serve with sauce
