Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 190°C (374°F)
Step 2
Lighty grease or line one or two baking trays
Step 3
Sift flour, bicarbonate of soda, brown sugar, and ground ginger into a bowl, Rub in butter until resembles coarse breadcrumbs
Step 4
Crack the egg into a seperate bowl, add the syrup, then whisk the mixture until it is all one colour, add to the flour mixture
Step 5
Knead the dough until smooth, roll in out on a lightly floured surface to approx. ½ cm thick (0.2 inches) (P.S. Thinner dough makes crispyer cookies)
Step 6
Cut out desired ginger bread shapes
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven until golden and puffed for about 10-12 mins, Let them sit on the tray for about 5 mins to cool down, then decorate.
Step 8
DECORATE!!!
