Copycat McDonalds Apple Pies

A super delicious mini apple pie made with puff pastry and a saucy cinnamon apple filling. Better than McDonald’s! See the YouTube video for more instruction.

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400°F. Make sure the puff pastry is thawed, but still cold.
Step 2
Combine the diced apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and butter to a saucepan. Cook over medium heat 8-10 minutes until apples are softened.
Step 3
Line a sheetpan with parchment paper.
Step 4
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to 12” width. Cut into 8 rectangles. Add 4 rectangles to the sheet pan and fill with 1-2 tablespoons of the filling. Add the top puff pastry rectangles to each. With a fork seal the edges.
Step 5
Whisk the egg with a splash of water and brush over the pies. With a sharp knife cut slits in the tops of each pie. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the tops of each pie.
Step 6
Bake 20-25 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
