3eggs
medium

¾ cupgranulated white sugar

½ cupunsalted butter
melted

1 tablespoonanise extract

1 ¾ cupswhite flour

2 teaspoonsbaking powder

⅛ teaspoonsalt

¼ cuppowder sugar

Instructions
Step 1
Heat the pizzelle waffle iron

Step 2
Whisk eggs, sugar, melted butter and anise extract together
Step 3
Sift in flour, baking powder and salt until batter is smooth

Step 4
Put 1 tablespoon of batter into waffle iron when it’s heated up.
Step 5
Cool until hardly any steam is coming out (45seconds- 1 minute)
Step 6
Use a fork and place on a wire cooling rack

Step 7
Cool pizzelle completely before putting powdered sugar on it.
Step 8
For vanilla cardamom pizzelle replace anise with 1 tablespoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon cardamom. For lemon replace with 1 table spoon lemon juice and lemon zest.
