Step 1
Cook spaghetti 1 to 2 minutes shy of package directions In large skillet heat oil, chickpeas, garlic and red pepper over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until garlic is lightly golden brown. Add pasta with 1/4 cup reserved pasta water. Cook, stirring until pasta is just tender and well coated with olive oil sauce. If pasta looks dry add additional pasta water. Add chopped basil and season to taste. Serve sprinkled with Parmesan, lemon zest and parsley if desired.
