Instructions
Step 1
Add 1 tbsp of sugar and 2 tsp of active dry yeast to warm milk.
Step 2
Let the mixture bloom for 10 minutes (until foamy).
Step 3
Mix the flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
Step 4
Add in the egg and melted butter.
Step 5
Add in the milk/yeast mixture.
Step 6
Gently mix the dough in the bowl until soft dough forms.
Step 7
Sprinkle flour on the working station where you'll be kneading your dough ball.
Step 8
Dump the dough onto your floured working station, drizzle a little oil on top of the dough to prevent sticking, then begin kneading your dough for 10 minutes.
Step 9
Knead until the dough is elastic.
Step 10
Form the dough into a ball and place it in an oiled bowl. Be sure to roll the dough ball around until it is covered all over in oil.
Step 11
Cover with cling wrap and a clean dish towel.
Step 12
Let it stand for 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
