Instructions

Step 1
Add sugar and yeast to the warm milk. Cover for 5 minutes or until the mixture becomes frothy.
Step 2
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Add the egg and melted butter and stir until dough comes together.
Step 3
Dust your hands and the surface with additional flour. Knead for 5 minutes until flour is incorporated. Grease the surface and your hands with oil, then knead for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth. Rest in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap or damp cloth, and allow to rise for 1 hour.
Step 4
After dough doubles in size, punch down with oiled hands to knock air out of the dough. Turn onto an oiled surface and split dough in two even parts.
Step 5
For loaves: -roll out one half into a rectangle. - Fold the short ends over to the centre and press. You now have a square. -Turn the centre seam of the square vertically. -Roll the lower end of the square upward into a log. -Place the log seam side down into your greased and lined loaf pan. Cover and allow to rise for 20 mins. -Bake at 350 F for 20-25 minutes
Step 6
For dinner rolls & burger buns: - separate one half of the dough into 4 equal parts (for buns) or 8 equal parts (for rolls). - Form each part into a tight ball and arrange on a lined tray 1-2 inches apart. - Bake in air fryer at 300 F for 30 minutes or in the oven at 350 F for 20 minutes.
