Pour hot water over the raisins and leave to swell. When they are swollen pour off the water.

Peel carrot and cut into thin, short straws.

Peel onion, cut into half and then slice it.

Preheat a couple of tablespoons of oil in a frying pan over medium heat, add onion, fry for a few minutes, then add carrot, cover the pan with a lid and fry for ~4 minutes. Then add raisins, salt, pepper to taste and fry until carrot softens.

Leave vegetables cool down completely.
Step 7
Slice herring fillets into strips, arrange them on a plate, add the vegetables on the top and serve. Enjoy!
