Cook the rice

Heat 1 tsp of the sesame oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook shrimp for 3 minutes, until just opaque. Transfer to plate

Heat the remaining 2 teaspoons sesame oil in the same skillet over medium heat. Cook the onion, garlic, scallions, and carrots for 2 minutes, or until just starting to soften.
Step 4
Add the kale and cook for 2 minutes.

Add the broth and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the kale has wilted.
Step 6
Stir in the reserved shrimp, hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and siracha. Cook for 1 minute, stirring, or until hot. Add black pepper and garlic salt to taste
