Ingredients
4 servings
500 grlamb mince
100 grpork mince
optional
2garlic cloves
crushed
1 tspfennel grounded
1 tspraz el hanout
1 tspcinnamon
1 tspcoriander seed grounded
1 tspcumin grounded
1 Tbspsriracha
1 Tbspolive oil
½ tspsalt
½ tsppepper
Tahini coconut sauce
Roast garlic oil
Instructions
Step 1
Mix all herbs, spices, garlic, sriracha and oil together into a large bowl. Stir until it forms a paste
Step 2
Add mince to the paste and mix together with your hands until it is well combined This can be prepared in advance and kept in the fridge for a few hours
Step 3
Preheat the oven at 180 degrees Celsius
Step 4
Shape the meat into 3-4 cm round balls and set aside
Step 5
Heat up oil (I use rice bran)
Fry the meat ball in batches until just brown
Place in oven proof dish
Step 6
When all the meat balls are done, cover the dish with aluminium foil, and put it in the preheated oven
Step 7
Bake in oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 mins
Tahini coconut sauce
Step 8
Mix all ingredients and place in a squeeze bottle or ziplock bag.
Roast garlic oil
Step 9
Heat olive oil in a small frying pan
Step 10
Add garlic and heat until brown
Step 11
Let it sit until ready to serve
Step 12
Reheat slightly just before using if needed
Serving
Step 13
Place the meat balls into a warmed serving platter or in individual plates
Step 14
Drizzle the tahini yogurt sauce over the meat generously. If using a zip lock bag, cut the corner of the bag and squeeze to create a consistent swirl over the meat
Keep the left over tahini yogurt in a serving bowl for anyone who wants extra
Step 15
Drizzle the oil over the top
