Instant Rava Dosa
Rava dosa is a quick and popular variant of dosa from the South Indian cuisine. These are incredibly easy to make and require no grinding or fermentation, unlike the traditional Dosa Recipe. Let’s make this by using Cast Iron Dosa pan by
The pan is naturally non stick, pre seasoned and induction safe.
I have been using their products for quite some time now and absolutely love them . Cast iron holds the heat well. Once cast iron has warmed up, it stays warm which helps keep food hot. Works well with many heat sources and easy clean.
Here’s the recipe for Rava Dosa:
1/2 cup fine rava
1/2 cup Rice
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 medium-sized onion finely chopped
1 tbsp chopped curry leaves
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tsp crushed black pepper
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
2.5 cups water or add as required
salt as required
oil , as required
Instructions:
For making the batter :
In a bowl an add rava, rice flour and all purpose flour.
Add
Add the chopped onions, chopped green chilies ginger.
Add crushed black pepper, cumin seeds, and salt as required.
Give it a mix
Add water as required and Whisk till smooth without any lumps. The batter has to be flowing and thin.
Cover and let the suji dosa batter rest for 20 to 30 minutes.
Now add chopped onions, chopped green, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Mix well
For making Dosa :
Make sure the dosa pan is very hot.
Mix the batter really well. The rava will settle at the bottom, make sure you mix the batter while making each Dosa.
Pour a ladle full of batter as shown in the video.
If there are big or small gaps, then fill them lightly with the batter.
Cook the dosa on a medium-low to medium flame.
When the top side looks cooked, drizzle some oil
Rava Dosa will take a little longer time to cook than regular dosa.
Cook till the base is golden and crisp.
Fold and then serve suji ka dosa hot with coconut chutney and sambar.
