shawrma mushroom flatbread with tzatziki

Welcome back to Pantry Staples, this week were using Shawarma paste as our pantry item favourite. Its full of flavour and a great way to throw together a very tasty meal like this shawrma mushroom flatbread with tzatziki, pickled onions and gherkins Ingredients: 400g oyster mushrooms 1 tbsp. Shawarma paste Olive oil and salt Fort the tzatziki: 100ml plain greek yoghurt 1/4 of a cucumber 2 tbsp. Chopped fresh mint 1 clove garlic 1/2 a lemon Salt The rest: Pickled onions (recipe in my highlights) Gherkins Flatbreads Method: Tear the mushrooms and marinate them in the shawarma paste, a drizzle of olive oil and salt whilst you make the tzatziki. Mince garlic into a bowl and cover with lemon juice and salt, leave to sit whilst you sort the rest. Grate cucumber into a clean towel and squeeze out all of the water. Add this along with yoghurt and chopped mint to the bowl, mix well and season to taste. Fry the mushrooms on a high heat to get some colour on them and then layer tzatziki on a warmed flatbread, followed by gherkins, mushrooms and pickled onions

Instructions

Step 1
Tear the mushrooms and marinate them in the shawarma paste, a drizzle of olive oil and salt whilst you make the tzatziki.
Step 2
Mince garlic into a bowl and cover with lemon juice and salt, leave to sit whilst you sort the rest.
Step 3
Grate cucumber into a clean towel and squeeze out all of the water. Add this along with yoghurt and chopped mint to the bowl, mix well and season to taste.
Step 4
Fry the mushrooms on a high heat to get some colour on them and then layer tzatziki on a warmed flatbread, followed by gherkins, mushrooms and pickled onions
