Place butter in a heat-proof bowl in a cool
oven. Turn oven to 350F; heat 3 minutes.

Flavored butters are an easy way to
dress up ordinary vegetables, meats.
or breads. To flavor 12 cup butter or
margarine, soften butter by cutting it
into pieces and placing it in a heat-
proof bowl in a cool oven. Turn the
oven to 350°; heat 3 minutes. Trans-
fer butter to a cool bowl so it won't
melt. Then stir in any of the season-
ings listed below to obtain the desired
flavor.
Orange Butter: Stir in 1 table-
spoon powdered sugar and 1/2 tea-
spoon grated orange peel. Serve with
bread.
Garlic Butter: Stir in 2 cloves
garlic, minced, or 1/2 teaspoon garlic
powder. Serve with bread or beef.
Parsley Butter: Stir in 1 table-
spoon snipped parsley; 1 teaspoon
lemon juice; 1/4 teaspoon dried sa-
vory, crushed; 1/8 teaspoon salt; and
dash pepper. Serve with potatoes or
bread.
Onion Butter: Stirin 1/4 cup finely
chopped onion, 2 teaspoons Worces-
tershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon dry mus-
tard, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Serve
with beef or burgers
Herb Butter: Stir in 1/2 teaspoon
dried thyme, crushed, and 1/2 tea-
spoon ground sage, Serve with
vegetables,
Tarragon Butter: Stir in 2 tea-
spoons lemon juice and 1 teaspoon
dried tarragon, crushed. Serve with
fish, beef, chicken, or vegetables
