Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 160C fan. Grease shallow ovenproof dish or ramekins.
Step 2
Beat together butter and caster sugar. Gradually beat in the eggs.
Step 3
Place dates, half the can of evaporated milk, soft brown sugar and the measured water in the saucepan and bring to the boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the bicarb.
Step 4
Fold the flour into the egg mixture then stir in the date mixture.
Step 5
Pour the batter into the prepared dish and bake for 35 - 45 minutes or until skewer inserted into centre comes out clean.
Step 6
Serve pudding warm with toffee sauce.
