Salt and Pepper Tofu Bites (made in an airfryer)

Instructions

preparation

Step 1
preheat your air fryer to 400°f (200°c).
Step 2
cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes and pat dry each piece.
Step 3
in a bowl, mix together garlic powder, white pepper, ginger powder, salt, and msg to create the spice mix.
Step 4
season the tofu cubes with the spice mix and toss them with potato starch until evenly coated.
Step 5
allow the tofu cubes to sit in the potato starch for 8-10 minutes to absorb moisture.
Step 6
toss the coated tofu cubes in 2 tbsp of neutral or frying oil.

place the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they're not touching.
Step 8
brush each tofu piece with reserved oil.
Step 9
air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until tofu is golden brown and crispy.

preparing the salt and pepper mix

in another bowl, mix together salt, five-spice powder, white pepper, and gochugaru to create the salt and pepper mix.

sauteing the vegetables and tofu

in a skillet, heat 1 tsp oil over medium heat.

add minced garlic, diced jalapeños, and chopped green onions. sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

add the air-fried tofu pieces to the skillet.
Step 14
sprinkle the salt and pepper mixture over the tofu cubes, to taste, tossing to coat evenly.

serve hot and enjoy!
