Ingredients

2 cupsfresh tomatoes
chopped
½ cupmolasses
1onion
medium, finely chopped
3 clovesgarlic
minced
1 tablespoonolive oil
2 tablespoonsapple cider vinegar
1 tablespoonmustard
preferably Dijon or yellow
1 tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
ensure it's natural and free of artificial ingredients
1 teaspoonsmoked paprika
salt
to taste
pepper
to taste
½ teaspoonground cumin
½ teaspoonchilli powder
Instructions
Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened, about five minutes.
Step 2
Add the chopped tomatoes (or crushed tomatoes if using canned), and cook for another five to seven minutes until they start to break down.
Step 3
Stir in the molasses, apple cider vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and chili powder. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
Step 4
Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about twenty to thirty minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
Step 5
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
