This is a so-simple-it’s-stupid crowd pleaser to make you the most popular girl at the potluck. Bacon and chicken broth are both very salty, so no extra salt is needed for this recipe. Measurements are loose for this recipe—I prefer more beans and less bacon, but you can use less beans for a heartier dish.

Step 1
Cube bacon, and cook in cast iron until almost browned. For a slightly healthier version, drain fat before continuing.
Step 2
Add fresh green beans, stir to coat in bacon fat
Step 3
Add chicken broth or bouillon&water mix. Add in summer savory or oregano. Cover to allow beans to steam.
Step 4
Beans are done when al dente. To serve, add freshly cracked black pepper for a fresh bite.
