Beef rice pilaf - plov

Instructions

Step 1
Add beef to a pan with a generous amount of oil seasoned with salt and pepper and brown the meat then remove it from the pan

In the same pan fry the carrots and onions ( add some more oil if there isn’t enough ) fry until the onions are translucent

Step 3
Add back in the beef then add salt pepper smoked paprika sweet paprika cumin turmeric coriander bay leaves and the water . Slice the bottom off of a whole head of garlic then nestle it in the center . Bring to a boil then lower the heat to medium and cook covered 50 minutes

Step 4
Wash the rice a few times to get the starch off then drain and scatter over the top . Add 4 cups of hot veggie broth or beef broth then bring to a boil lower the heat to medium low and cook covered for 20 minutes . Remove the lid and let the rice settle. Adjust the seasoning and serve .
