Instructions
Step 1
Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients: Start with 8 oz of ground pork or use chicken or shrimp if you prefer. Squeeze out the water from half a block of tofu to keep the filling from getting soggy.
Step 2
Step 2: Season the Filling: Mix the pork and tofu with: ½ tbsp soy sauce, ½ tbsp oyster sauce, ½ tbsp cooking wine, 1 tsp minced garlic, a little grated ginger, 3 pinches black pepper, ½ tbsp sesame oil. Stir everything together until well combined.
Step 3
Step 3: Finely chop rinsed kimchi, squeeze out the water, and add it to the filling. Thinly slice 2–3 green onions and mix them in too.
Step 4
Step 4: Prepare the Wrappers: Thaw dumpling wrappers at room temperature for about 1 hour.
Step 5
Step 5: Assemble the Dumplings: Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of a wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold in half, and press tightly to seal. Remove any air to prevent bursting.
Step 6
Step 6: Boil the Dumplings: Boil the dumplings in hot water until they float to the top. Drain them well and let them cool on parchment paper.
Step 7
Step 7: Fry the Dumplings: Heat 1 cup of oil in a pan. Dry the dumplings well to avoid splattering. Fry them until golden brown on both sides, flipping halfway through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 8
Step 8: Make the Dipping Sauce: Mix 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tsp honey, and ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional). Add sliced green onion and stir.
Step 9
Step 9: Serve the crispy dumplings with the dipping sauce. Enjoy—they’re crunchy on the outside and juicy inside! 😊
