Instructions

Step 1
Mash the beans and set aside

For the bacon and kielbasa

Sauté the bacon in sauté pan and set aside.

Brown the kielbasa in the bacon grease and set aside.

Pour off all but 1 Tbsp bacon grease.

For the vegetables

Add the onions, garlic, chili powder, a pinch of salt to the bacon grease, and sauté until the vegetables are soft, about 2 to 3 minutes.

Transfer soup to pot

Stir in the beans and rice, cook for 1 minute. Glazed with 1 cup of the broth.

Reduce heat and simmer rice until done, about 20 minutes.

Sauté greens & tomatoes

In a separate pan, sauté greens and tomatoes in oil over medium-high heat just until greens are wilted, about 1 minute.
