Step 1
Pour everything into a large pot. Simmer for at least 30 min or all day in a crock pot on low. Serve with cornbread.
Step 2
Optional, for a fresher taste: saute finely chopped onion, carrot and celery in a tablespoon of oil. Add a package of beef stew meat, brown the meat, and scrape the bottom of the pan before adding the rest of the ingredients. Drain the liquid from each can of veggies (except tomatoes) and substitute additional chicken broth for the liquid. Use fresh or frozen diced potatoes, corn, green beans and limas instead of canned.
