Tater Tot Cheeseburger/Chili Cheeseburger Casserole

Recipe is set for those who prefer mild seasoning and picky eaters. I add onion and larger seasoning portions. If you have an air fryer toss tots in to brown them so they have a crispy exterior before adding to the meat and sauce mix. It helps they keep their shape and less chance of a slightly mushy, but still delicious, casserole.

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F
Step 2
Cook the beef in a skillet with the seasonings over medium high heat until cooked through. Drain if necessary.
Step 3
Take off the heat and mix meat with soup and around 1 to 1.5 soup cans of milk or water. If using chili use a bit less of liquid until you can see how it's coming together. Add more as needed.
Step 4
Mix in drained corn and/or whole can of chili with beans
Step 5
Add most of tater tots to meat and soup mixture. Leave enough tater tots to make a layer on top. Pour the mixture into a 9x13 and spread remaining tots across the top.
Step 6
Cover with foil and bake until sauce is bubbling. Take off foil and return to oven until and tots on top are nicely browned.
Step 7
Add cheese to top. Let it melt back in the oven for a few minutes.
