Bryndza Dumplings (Bryndzové halušky)

Instructions

Step 1
Finely grate the raw potatoes. Add flour and salt to the grated potatoes and mix to form a slightly runny dough.​
Step 2
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Using a halušky sieve or a colander with large holes, press the dough through into the boiling water to form small dumplings. Cook for about 5 minutes until they float to the surface.​
Step 3
In a separate bowl, mix the bryndza with sour cream until smooth.​
Step 4
Dice the bacon and fry it until crispy.​
Step 5
You can serve the halušky in two ways:​

Step 6
Option 1: Serve the drained dumplings with a tablespoon of the bryndza mixture on top, garnished with the crispy bacon.​
Step 7
Option 2: Mix all the dumplings with the bryndza and sour cream mixture, then serve topped with the crispy bacon.
