1 lbboneless skinless chicken breast
cut into 1-inch thick strips

½ cupall-purpose flour

¼ cupcornstarch

1 tspgarlic powder

½ tspsalt

¼ tspblack pepper

1egg
large, beaten

vegetable oil for frying

¼ cupsoy sauce

¼ cupketchup

2 Tbsprice vinegar

2 Tbsphoney

1 Tbspbrown sugar

1 tspcornstarch

½ tspginger
grated, optional
Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Step 2
Dip each chicken strip into the beaten egg, then dredge thoroughly in the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
Step 3
Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat until shimmering.
Step 4
Carefully add the chicken fingers to the hot oil in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
Step 5
Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 6
While the chicken is frying, whisk together all the sauce ingredients in a small saucepan.
Step 7
Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens slightly.
Step 8
Add the fried chicken fingers to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
Step 9
Serve immediately and enjoy! Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped scallions, if desired.
