Instructions

Step 1
Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions and drain.
Step 2
In a large pot, brown the ground beef in a bit of oil.

Add the onions and bell peppers, and cook for 5 minutes

Add the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Let simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the mixture has a slightly thinner consistency than spaghetti sauce.
Step 6
Remove from heat and stir in the cooked macaroni until well coated. Add a bit of mozzarella cheese into the mixture — this will help the sauce stick to the pasta.
Step 7
Pour everything into an oven-safe baking dish and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese on top.
Step 8
Bake at 350°F for about 20 minutes, then broil briefly to gratinate the cheese.
