Sugar Water Syrup
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F
Step 2
In medium bowl, mix walnuts, sugar, and cinnamon.
Step 3
Pull apart enough Kataifi dough to make a flat 6"×2" bed.
Step 4
Place horizontally on work surface.
Step 5
Spoon 2 tbsp of mixture about 1-inch from edge.
Step 6
Fold end over spooned mixture and roll.
Step 7
Pinch end closed and place on greased sheet pan.
Step 8
Repeat steps 3 through 7 remaining Kataifi.
Step 9
Place in preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Sugar Water Syrup
Step 10
Dissolve sugar in water and bring to a boil for approximately 10 minutes.
Step 11
Add lemon juice, lemon rind, cloves, and cinnamon stick.
Step 12
Boil for an additional 20 minutes. Strain and pour hot syrup over hot Kataifi rolls.
Step 13
Set aside to cool for at least 2 hours before serving.
