Ingredients
4 servings
For the steak
1 poundground beef
½ tspground black pepper
1 tspdry mustard
2 Tbspketchup
1 Tbspworcestershire sauce
1 tspsoy sauce
1egg
beaten
cayenne pepper
or to taste
½ cupbread crumbs
or crackers
For the gravy
Instructions
For the steak patties
Step 1
Mix all steak ingredients gently & chill for 3 hours. Don't over mix it.
Step 2
Shape chilled beef into oval patties 1/2 inch thick
Step 3
In fry pan, sear both sides in butter just to brown, not to cook through
Step 4
Return the gravy to pan
Step 5
Simmer everything 5 minutes until cooked
Step 6
Serve with vegetables & mashed potatoes
For the gravy

Melt 2 tbsp butter in a pan
Step 8
Add sliced mushrooms first then diced onions & a pinch of salt

Saute until deeply browned
Step 10
Stir in flour & cook for 3 minutes to remove the raw taste

Add 1 tbsp ketchup & splash of worcestershire sauce
Step 12
Add 3 cups beef broth
Step 13
Add 2 Tbsp corn starch slurry
Step 14
Simmer for 10 minutes until thickened
