Swedish Meatball Recipe

We bought frozen Swedish meatballs and just made the sauce, ended up being an easy dinner.

Sautéed 2 small cans of mushrooms, set aside. Made sauce as directed. Put frozen mushrooms in sauce and simmered about 20 min.

Doubled the recipe, added mushrooms when the meatballs were added to the sauce. Loved by the whole family, doubling made 8 servings, 1 C leftover sauce gonna try on pierogies

Add one packet beef au jus

The flavor is great but my meatballs didn’t stay together. I think I didn’t add enough meat I did all beef 1 lb, I would also reduce the milk in the meatballs and double check the amount of meat. I think baking the meatballs would work best or maybe just cooking them in the fry pan longer and with the cover on. I added fresh thyme and fresh rosemary which was amazing ! I also added egg noodles, frozen peas and sautéed mushrooms !!

Only made sauce, yummy!

Didn’t have allspice, but substituted with cinnamon. Turned out really yummy! Paired with mashed potatoes and a baby kale salad

Dial back some of the salt.

Cut the butter down to 2 tablespoons and use 2 tablespoons olive oil, use light sour cream.

Really not bad, I just don't care for the nutmeg and allspice. Take those two out and it would be pretty good.
