Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the Filling: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion to the beef and cook for another 2-3 minutes until softened.
Step 3
Stir in the taco seasoning and green chilies. Cook for another minute, allowing the flavors to blend.
Step 4
Add the refried beans to the beef mixture and stir well to combine. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes on low heat to allow the flavors to meld together. Set aside.
Step 5
Make the Sauce: In a bowl, combine the green chili sauce, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream. Stir until smooth and well-mixed. Set aside.
Step 6
Assemble the Burritos: Warm the burrito tortillas in the microwave or on a skillet for about 10-15 seconds to make them more pliable.
Step 7
Place a generous amount of the beef and bean mixture in the center of each tortilla.
Step 8
Roll the tortilla tightly, folding in the edges as you go to form a burrito.
Step 9
Smother and Bake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 10
Place the assembled burritos in a baking dish, seam-side down.
Step 11
Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the burritos.
Step 12
Bake for 25-30 minutes.
