Instructions

Step 1
In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of water with 1/2 tablespoon of white miso paste. Once dissolved, add the rolled oats, ginger powder, garlic powder, and white pepper.
Step 2
Cook the rolled oats via stovetop or microwave. I cook mine in the microwave for about 1:30 minutes.
Step 3
Once cooked, stir in the protein powder (if you plan on using protein powder), soy sauce, and rice vinegar. If the oats are too thick, add water (about 2 tablespoons at a time) until your desired consistency comes to fruition.
Step 4
Adjust the seasoning to your liking by adding more black pepper, ginger powder, garlic powder, or rice vinegar (if you think the oats need more acid aka brightness to them).
Step 5
Top the oats with your choice of desired toppings. I prefer to top mine with a fried egg (runny yolk only), scallions, sesame seeds, and a beautiful drizzle of chili oil.
Step 6
Take a picture, break the yolk, and dive in!
