Instructions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line two large baking sheets with foil and lightly coat with cooking spray.
Step 2
In a shallow bowl, combine parsley, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, brown sugar, chili powder, and 1/4 teaspoon each of salt and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to make the blackened seasoning.
Step 3
Place the salmon on a plate, coat with cooking spray, and season with 1 teaspoon of the blackened seasoning. Flip the salmon, coat with cooking spray again, and season with another teaspoon of the seasoning.
Step 4
Place the salmon on one of the prepared baking sheets.
Step 5
In a small bowl, drizzle the asparagus with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Place on the second prepared baking sheet.
Step 6
Transfer the salmon and asparagus to the oven. Roast until the asparagus is tender and slightly browned and the salmon flakes easily with a fork, is blackened and crispy on the outside, and an instant-read thermometer reads 145°F, about 12 to 15 minutes.
Step 7
Portion onto 4 plates and squeeze fresh lemon juice over each serving.
