Ingredients

Tofu
800gfirm tofu
pressed & sliced into 16 steaks
6 Tbspsoy sauce
2 Tbspmirin
or rice vinegar
2 Tbspsesame oil
1 cupblack sesame seeds
½ cupcornstarch
Dried Plum Sauce
Pickled Veg
Sticky Rice
Instructions
Sauce
Step 1
Simmer all together 5–10 mins until thick; blend smooth.
Tofu
Step 2
Marinate tofu in soy, mirin, ginger and garlic paste, and sesame oil (30 mins - overnight).
Step 3
Pat dry, dredge in cornstarch, then coat in black sesame.
Step 4
Pan-fry or air-fry until crisp and golden (about 3–4 mins per side).
Step 5
Serve with plum sauce drizzled over the top, sticky rice on the side, and:

Toss and chill 20 minutes before serving.

Rinse rice until clear
Step 8
Cook, rest 10 mins, fluff
Step 9
Mix vinegar, salt, and sugar and fold gently into rice for sheen and subtle tang.
