Step 1
Mix the ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Pour and freeze: Pour the mixture into an 8x10 inch (or similar size) freezer-safe baking pan, spreading it evenly. Place the pan in the freezer for 90 minutes.
Step 3
Whisk repeatedly: Remove the pan from the freezer and whisk the mixture vigorously, making sure to scrape the sides and break up any frozen sections.
Step 4
Repeat the process: Return the pan to the freezer. Whisk the mixture again every 30-45 minutes for the next 2–3 hours. This aerates the mixture and ensures a smooth texture by preventing large ice crystals.
Step 5
Final freeze: Once the ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to an airtight container. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until the desired firmness is achieved.
